The Bengal Tiger: Never say die!!!

In 1992 a new player marked his presence in Indian cricket team, Saurav Chandidas Ganguly. He fialed miserably against West Indies, scored only 3 runs, as a result he was dropped from the team. This man amassed a lot of runs in domestic cricket and made a comeback in Indian side touring England in 1996. He emerged as the prince of Indian cricket by scoring centuries in both the innings of his debut test match. He was awarded "Man of the series" in the first test series of his carrier. From here he never looked back and was soon became one of the most trusted and loved cricketer of India.

Sourav was appointed as captain when Sachin Tendulkar, shocked everyone by stepping down from his captaincy after India’s disastrous tour of Australia in 1999. As vice captain to Tendulkar, Sourav was the most obvious choice, also at that time a lot of major players including Sachin Tendulkar were unfit. He accepted the challenge and led India to a victory against South Africa. Suddenly a meteor crashed on the surface of world cricket, the match fixing scandal!!!

With major players like Ajay Jadeja and Md. Azzharuddin out from the action, he took the charge with youngsters. Sourav also was not shy of taking on responsibility. He showed that he can be a leader of a team, which has greats like Sachin and Dravid in the side, without any problems. Under Sourav's leadership, India got back the winning habit which the team had forgotten.
Today, Sourav Ganguly is the most successful Indian captain leaving Mohammed Azharuddin’s previous record of 14 test wins behind. Sourav has won 21 Tests as captain, of which more than 7 wins have come overseas! His success rate is an amazing 42%, the highest ever by an Indian captain.

Under his captaincy, the Indian team achieved remarkable heights, including the Test series win against Australia at home in 2001, reaching the World Cup Final in 2003, and winning both the one-day and Test series in Pakistan in 2004.

In just a few years, Sourav rewrote the rules of captaincy. Unlike some of his predecessors, he was impartial, non-parochial, and forever pushed his players to perform better. Off the field, Sourav’s interactions with the media, his fans, and detractors were uncompromisingly honest and earned him the respect of cricket followers everywhere. His 5-year reign

as India's most successful skipper came to an end in October 2005 when India's newly appointed coach (allegedly) tried to pressurized him to step down as the Captain of Indian side.

Soon Sourav became a forgotten chapter. Team under Rahul Dravid started well but after some time it started struggling. On the other hand Ganguly didn't started domestic season well but soon he got his form back and started scoring big. In spite of that Chief of Indian Cricket Selection Committee said that the board will never ever consider Sourav again, but...
As he said, "I'll come back", he was called back to Indian side and he proved his mettle against South African "Bouncers", and was awarded "Man of the series".
He also scored his maiden double century against Pakistan.
After playing a successful innings he decided to put an end to the story, with his never say die spirit the Prince of Kolkata emerged as the Greatest Cricket Captain (Maharaja) of India.

A big question?

We all are human beings, like others we do commit mistakes, we regret when we miss something in life, we feel sorry when others fail, we grow angry when things don't go our way...
The question is what we can do about it???????????
Can we change our past???
Can we know our future???
Can we control the way others behave with us???
So the big question here is What we have done, because of which we, face such sufferings?
It is said that we have to accept, what God has written in our destiny, but!!!
Remember a deer never enters in the mouth of a sleeping lion. Lion have to hunt at least twelve times to achieve success (actually he earns his food)
Yes! we can change our destiny and if required we can fight with the whole world for it.
Remember the courage of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
Remember the patience of Mahatma Gandhi
Remember the enthusiasm of Banda Singh Bahadur
Remember the optimism of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Remember the dedication of Rabindranath Tagore...
Please remember that every huge banyan tree grew from a small seed
So it doesn't matter what you were in the past or what you are now, but
It matters what you are planning to become in future.

Failure! Oh my God what to do???

Many times it happens in our life...
We FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Failure is the eternal truth of this world, but is it the end???
In a famous dialogue (from the movie The ghost and the darkness) Michael Douglas, said "Each defeat teach us something, today you are defeated; now it is up to you what you can learn from it".
Yes, I accept that failure is painful but do you have any other choice???

But no failure is permanent, TIME is the greatest medicine.
Famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar once said in an interview "Every failure sets a new fire in me, each time I get out on duck (i.e. 0), I tell myself that now I have to hit a century".

So what to do when you fail???
When he was asked how he feels when his movie fails at box office, Amitabh Bachchan replied "I just smile and tell myself that I gave my best shot, but it was God's will that the movie didn't worked. Every morning comes with a new hope; I'll start a new movie better than this one".

Feel proud of our failures!!!!!!!!!
What!!!!
Yes, we should feel proud of our failures because, we failed not because we are not talented; we failed because: we had the courage to try something new
we failed because we had the daring that no one else has
We Failed Because God Knew That We Are Capable Of Facing Such A Defeat!!!
The Ship is always safest at the Harbor. But that is not where it is supposed to be

In her poem "The Last Song", Emily Dickinson mentioned that the value of victory is best known by those who failed to achieve it, and not by the one who won,
so even if you have failed to achieve anything, you are the one who knows how valuable that thing is!!!

I would like to invite you to share your biggest defeat in life with all of us, may be we can help you to overcome from the pain resulted from that defeat.

Life II

After listening these words boy set off for his place. On his way he met with a priest. Priest asked "My son why are you looking so sad?", the boy told him the whole story. Priest asked "do you really love her?", "yes" the boy replied. "My son
love is not the gesture of taking; it is the gesture of giving, if you really love her then leave her alone. Your happiness lies in her happiness". Boy realized it, said thank you to priest and continued his journey.
After many years...
Boy became a business tycoon. One day his accountant invited him for dinner at his home. Boy reached there on time and a big surprise was waiting for him...
His lost love was the wife of his accountant. He realized that she still does not remember him, but he was happy to see that she is also happy with her family.
When his accountant asked the secret of his success, he told his accountant the following learning's:
  1. Never ever give up in life but...
  2. Giving up doesn't always mean you are weak; sometimes it means that you are strong enough to let go
  3. When love is lost, do not bow your head in sadness; instead keep your head up high and gaze into heaven for that is where your broken heart has been sent to heal
  4. Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together
  5. Sadness flies away on the wings of time
  6. We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey
  7. If you're going through hell, keep going
  8. You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present
  9. There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go
  10. Let your joy scream across the pain
  11. Turn your wounds into wisdom
  12. Don't cry when the sun is gone, because the tears won't let you see the stars
So my dear friend, in life we also lose many things, which are dear to us but there is one thing, which no one can take away, that is our hope. So always keep on moving ahead, forget the past but never forget to learn something from it.

Life I

Life is amazing. We believe that everything is in our control, but when we come face to face with reality; we realize that there is someone else who controls everything.
There was a young boy, who was born in a very rich and well to do family. Right from his birth he always got whatever he wanted. When he reached at the age of 18 years, he met with a beautiful girl. He immediately fell in love with her. Even she responded in a positive manner and hence their love story began.
Boy was pretty sure that he is the writer of his own destiny, he always get what he wanted, but...
Suddenly one day girl fell from stairs and was taken to a hospital. After regaining consciousness she remembered everyone except that boy!
Boy's life became miserable he got everything he wanted but had lost the most precious thing he needed. He tried very hard to gain her attention but she ignored him every-time.
Ultimately when all the means failed the boy left his place and started wandering like a mad. One day he met with a sage who said "Everything in this world happens only due to God's will". The boy asked "Does your God loves all of us?" Sage replied "Yes, my son, he is our supreme father, he love all of us like his children". "Then why he give us sorrow, pain etc?" boy asked. "Dear son", sage replied, "have you ever been to a doctor, along with your parents?" Boy said "Yes". Sage said "Did your parents ever allowed him to give you an injection, even when they knew that it will hurt you?" Boy thought for a while and then replied "yes, because they also knew that this is the only means to cure me". "In the similar manner God give us problems, pains and sufferings so that we can improve our-self and become better", sage replied.

To be continued...
